TR Women in the Workplace
Since beginning her position at Thomson Reuters in 2018, Alyssa has been involved in the TR Women in the Workplace organization. She went through a year long mentoring program that connected 20 women through out different corners of the company and paired them in a group to participate in monthly presentations and discussions.
She continues to join roundtables and discussions to learn more about leadership and positive workplace skills and mindsets.
Co-President of UWM Love Your Melon
Alyssa was involved in the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Love Your Melon chapter for three years and eventually became the Co President, also established as the largest organization on campus at that time.
She started as the PR Manager managing all of the social media and online presence. She created a google drive that housed all of the administrative work and the marketing vault. She scheduled regular photoshoots and created a content calendar that her social media team could easily follow.
The following year she became the Event Manager and Co-President of the crew. She planned over 8 superhero adventures, which are large adventures around the area for a local child battling cancer. She collaborated with local companies to plan these events and relied on donations due to a small budget. She then executed the event through a small team.
When she wasn’t planning superhero adventures, she was hosting Be The Match swab drives. The crew went to fellow UWM campus organizations and sports teams and presented the benefits of bone marrow donations and took swab samples to send into Be The Match.
Alyssa managed a board of eight executive members and delegated duties amongst them through weekly to do lists. She also conducted interviews to decide who will be the best fit to join the crew of 30.
We hosted weekly meetings for our crew and one meeting a month for our volunteer crew of over 300 volunteers. We participated in local events and philanthropic opportunities in the community and regularly worked with local news and campus press.
Vice President of Membership – UWM American Marketing Association
As the Vice President of Membership for the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee American Marketing Association, Alyssa accomplished a variety of goals. Her main responsibility was increasing membership and creating strategies to improve retention.
Through this position she increased membership by 200%.

By tabling at involvement fairs, creating tabling products and graphics, social media and training her executive board on a consistent AMA elevator pitch, we were able to introduce over 500 guests at our first meeting.
Due to our large success of membership retention throughout the semester, Alyssa was invited to speak at the American Marketing Association Collegiate International Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, she was able display a presentation with the UWM AMA President and present to over 300 people about the importance of leadership in membership retention. She then hosted a question panel at the end of her presentation and gave tips and tricks on how to have successful recruitment.
